The Avacayam program (-verb: gathering flowers; origin: Sanskrit) is an income-generating platform for persons with disability and a movement of environment conservation. The program collects used flowers from bulk users like temples and hotels and converts it to consumer products that are deeply embedded in our culture like Holi colour, Rangoli and Agarbattis, employing people with disability along the entire supply chain.
The Avacayam program (-verb: gathering flowers; origin: Sanskrit) is an income-generating platform for persons with disability and a movement of environment conservation.
All the different processes of making the products have been broken down into very simple steps. With our experience of working with people with disability, we have developed a one-year training program whereby each aspect of the process from collecting flowers to making colour/ agarbatis and marketing them is covered.
Please note currently, the processing of flowers to make colour is only carried out by our main branch in Delhi since very large volumes are needed to be able to carry out this operation.
